Allied Signs specializes in creating HDU Monument signs. These signs offer the flexibility to achieve unique architectural designs, featuring elements such as flourishes, columns, caps, crescents, rounded caps, decorative posts, and arched tops. We craft all of our Monument signs in-house, utilizing woodworking and cabinetry skills.
The lettering can be crafted as cutout letters applied to the face of the sign or sandblasted directly into it, both options adding dimension to the design. A popular choice is incorporating brass-looking aluminum (known as alumabrass) insets into the primary wording, which gives the sign a distinctive touch. The design possibilities are endless! Weather-Resistant Material
By choosing an HDU sign, you’re investing in a durable product that will last for years to come. HDU signs will not warp, crack, or bow when exposed to the elements. Typically, these signs have a carcass made from 2×6 or 2×8 CCA lumber. We use High-Density Urethane (HDU) Precision Board panels, ranging from 1/2″ to 1-1/2″ thick, which are affixed to the lumber carcass to create the desired monument shape. To ensure durability and strength, everything is sealed with an acrylic textured finish and then top-coated with acrylic paints. These signs are resistant to fading, moisture, and insects due to the synthetic materials used in their construction.
